ABG Retirement Plan Services Recognized by Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. with 2017 Best-in-Retirement Business IMPACT Award™
PEORIA, IL - November 16, 2017
ABG Retirement Plan Services (ABGIL) was honored today by Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. with the 2017 Best-in-Retirement Business IMPACT AwardTM. The firm was recognized for their leadership in the retirement industry and for their dedication to those they serve. They received the award on the main stage at Schwab IMPACT®, the nation's largest and longest-running gathering of independent advisors.
"This recognition is very important to us. Our teams are dedicated to our clients and we work day-in and day-out to do our very best for them," says John Blossom, President and CEO, ABG Retirement Plan Services. "That dedication is what made this honor possible."
The IMPACT Awards® are given each year to independent advisor firms that have demonstrated excellence through leadership, innovative business practices, client dedication, and fresh thinking. The Best-in-Retirement IMPACT Award™ honors an independent record keeper or advisor that focuses on retirement plans, understand the unique needs of plan sponsors and/or participants, and has developed an innovative approach to serving them.
"Our mission is simple: We help people save for retirement," says Linda Blossom, Executive Vice President of Investment Services and Chief Compliance Officer. "Employees participating in our retirement programs are more than just 'participants' of a plan, but 'members' with a sense of belonging, accountability and engagement in the plan for their retirement success. We know our mission isn't possible if American workers' finances aren't sound and that is why we embrace finanical fitness as a prerequisite to retirement readiness. Through our Financial Fitness Center, we can increase employees' retirement preparedness by incorporating lasting improvements into their financial habits."
Winning firms were selected by a panel of independent judges. As part of the award, Schwab will make a donation of $15,000 to the non-profit organization chosen by the award recipients. ABG Retirement Plan Services has requested the donation be split between two organizations.
One of the donation recipients will be the Salvation Army-Heartland Division. The team at ABG Retirement Plan Services has supported The Salvation Army as volunteers and through fundraising efforts for many years. The Salvation Army is vital to central Illinois's Tri-County area helping people overcome personal challenges and get back on their feet. The second donation recipient will be the Peoria Public School Foundation's "Adopt-a-school" program - a partnership between education and businesses of Peoria to encourage students and to enrich their educational experiences. The firm recently "adopted" Roosevelt Magnet School through this program and is actively committed.
